2010–04–02 How–Could... So the iPad comes out Saturday

Don't get me wrong I think the idea of a table pc is pretty neat, but is carrying an oversized iPhone worth it?

If you are like me and hate carrying things around like keys, cellphones, wallet, ect.. Your probably not going to like carrying an iPad around. I think we'll see a surge of men carrying "man purses" is about to rise after Saturdays release of the iPhone.

The big question I have as a developer is.. Will this change the way we design for the web? Right now we have no idea if the iPad is going to be a win or total fail. Or will people just stick to the iPhone netbooks, and laptops they already have and become accustom to.

So far, sales for the iPad are looking good but with it only supporting AT&T and not supporting Flash users are seem to be very limited. Hopefully this wont be a problem for Apple in the near future.

On the other hand, If the iPad is a hit.. Then the way we design will change. Not only do we design and develop for the web and smartphone browsers. We then need to take the iPad into consideration. Not that it's a big deal just another medium to market to. :)

Will this change the way we create certain pages for the web? Will we only design pages geared for the iPad specifically? How long will Apple limit what can and cannot be done with the iPad? Only time will tell.

I know one thing and it's the future is crazy and it's only the beginning. Technology is going to be insane in 20 years.
