2010–04–06 How–Could... Tracking web campaign data
At first tracking web campaign data can sometimes confusing and overwhelming. When you figure out the exact processes it's actually quite interesting.
I recommend starting off small with one or two sites with a few advertisements each. After you understand what's going on and learn the process, you can add more.
You will need to tag your advertisements manually or automatically. Using Google Adwords you can use the auto tagging option. If you are using any other non Adwords campaigns then you will need to use Google Analytics URL Builder or manually tag it your self. Using Google Analytics URL Builder for tagging your textual advertisements or banner campaigns, you will have less chance for error.
