Traffic for any website on internet is defined by the users coming to the website regularly and the popularity of the website increased as the traffic on website increases. Web traffic is the traffic for whole web. One can find information about almost everything on internet but for this he should know the relevant website to search for. But it’s not possible for one to know about all the websites and this is where ‘Search Engines’ like Google, Yahoo, MSN etc, comes in picture. One can search using relevant keywords for his query on these search engines and then search engine will provide links to the websites containing information for the relevant keyword.

According to the recent survey more than 60% internet users do use the search engines frequently which indicate the amount of web traffic going through search engines. The very basic reason of such ample use of search engines is that one can find all information like products, tutorials, news and all on the internet. Due to such tremendous use of search engines, most of the traffic on web has its origin rooted to the search engines and that’s why search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN used by most of the web users for searching are the origin of web traffic.

Apart from the keyword search there are other sources on these websites using which they generates web traffic. Google has many other programs like ADSENSE, Ads, ADWORDS etc which are also major source of web traffic. Yahoo Answers is also a big traffic generating website. If one wants to get some information about any product or any other thing and does not know the websites which will provide him information then search engines like Google, Yahoo are the best place to search for.

Since most of the users do use search engines like Google to get information about products or to search for the websites relevant to their search keywords which has made these search engines to be the origin of significant amount of web traffic.
